Wicklow Way 15b From Kilquiggan Church to Aghowle

This stage of the Wicklow Way ( 15 and 15b)  can be completed in one walk. A shorter return route to Kilquiggan Church is along the road after decending down from the woods of Upper Aghowle

Through the woodlands of Ratheenakit
and Aghowle Upper and down to Aghowle

The two walks together I would describe as strenuous and the additional distance ( see Wicklow Way 16 ) as very strenuous. There is an ascent of 200 metres and a descent of 200 metres with ups and downs on the rolling hills. Returning by road to Kilquiggan Church reduces much of the 200 metres to re-climb.

Crossing over a stile you enter a very steep abandoned lane that takes you down to gravel lane and then to the asphalt road.

If you plan to finish the Wicklow Way on the next walk, it would be a good idea to continue on the the Wicklow Way route and reduce the length of the last walk.

The Kingdom becomes Worldwide

The advancement of the Kingdom of God did not end with the last chapter of the Acts of the Apostles. It has continued right throughout history down to this present day. Many in the Roman world became Christians despite the most cruel persecutions. The invading barbarians nor the ignorance and superstition of the Dark and Middle Ages did not stop it growth. Religious Institutional corruptions did not destroy it. Many became Christians during the Reformation and Spiritual Revivals that struck Europe and America.

In our present day, the kingdom is growing the fastest. The reduction in professing Christians in the West is well made up for in the advancement of Christianity in Africa, Latin America, China and India as well as other parts of the world. The words of Jesus have been proved to be true. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it". Matthew 16: 18 and again He told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches." Matthew 13: 31 and 32
