These
are neglected woods but well worth a visit. The only drawback is the
constant drone from traffic
There
are two circular walks in these woods sharing a common leg (a).
The
sketch is extremely crude and should be considered like the middle
age maps with areas marked “Here be dragons”,
hopefully it will
give some structure to the pictures. Starting from the car park with
your back to the road the starting point is on the left. After a
short distance an almost 180 degree turn will put you on the common
leg (a) a constant uphill gradient. A choice of routes is available
between (b) downhill and back to the car park or ( c) a further
uphill climb. Later another choice is available between (e) downhill
back to the car park or (e) down to a gravel road and a return using
the same trail.
